Head Pastor
Mark A Simmons Sr.
Pastor Mark A. Simmons is a native of St. Louis, Missouri born to James and Elizabeth Simmons. He was introduced to Christ at a young age. He was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the Honorable Bishop James A. Johnson. Pastor Simmons rededicated his life to Christ at the age 19 and was determined to live for him. He graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. Although his hopes and dreams of becoming a professional football player came to an end with a traumatic knee injury during the season, God's purpose for his life came to fruition when he accepted the call to the ministry. Pastor Simmons served in various ministries of Bethesda Temple such as Sunday school teacher, Minister, Prayer Warrior, Prison Ministry and attended Bethesda Temple Aenon Bible Institute. He also completed and earned credits as Chaplain with St. Lukes Hospital System. Pastor Simmons is married to Dr. Veda Simmons, and they have 3 children, Mark Jr, Matthew, and Manna. He enjoys spending time with his family and is a devoted husband and father. After hearing the voice of the Lord, Pastor Simmons along with his wife, founder and co-founder, opened the doors of Shekinah Glory Tabernacle in September of 2005. Pastor Simmons was ordained by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World in June of 2006. The church grew and many souls were baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. The church moved into its own location within 3 months after opening and went on to purchase the entire 8,000 square foot property. The Lord was still moving upon the heart of Pastor Simmons and after 8 years God led him to change the name of the church to "Truth Church" on January 1, 2014. The ministry serves the community by ministering at local shelter homes & prison ministries. Pastor Simmons seeks to save those that are lost and boldly proclaim the uncompromising, unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ. He has a heart to serve the Lord.
